The Macaw design was taken from a photo of a Hycainth Macaw by it's owner. We altered the palm leaves and added some palms above and to the right to "break-up" the large open area and to relieve the glass stress that would form due to the birds beak and head. The palms were done in Light Green and Dark Green Wispy with some Green Granite added. The palm bark is done in Chocolate Granite. The Macaw is done in Dark Blue Wispy with a few portions of Medium Blue Wispy added for accent. The Background glass is Clear Double Chip with two borders of Dark Rose Wispy and White/Clear Baroque. The panel was 48" x 36" and cost $1750.00.
